Editorial Standards

Source hierarchy. We prefer, in this order: (1) primary sources such as the FAA, the Federal Aviation Regulations, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and official military pages; (2) published price sheets and policies from schools and operators; (3) industry surveys and reputable reporting; (4) reader-submitted information, treated as a lead to verify, never as a fact on its own.

Dating figures. Every salary, cost or requirement figure shows its source and the date it was retrieved. Figures can go out of date quickly, so check the source link before making a financial decision.

Ranges and uncertainty. We use ranges where a single number would mislead and say so when data is thin.

Independence. Advertisers, affiliates and schools do not review or approve content before publication. Paid or sponsored listings are labeled, and the criteria used to compare schools are published and applied the same way to everyone.

Reviews and updates. Each guide shows a "last reviewed" date. We aim to review top pages at least every six months and whenever a major source updates.

Corrections. Report an error through the contact page. We verify against the primary source and correct promptly.

Stories and examples. Any illustrative scenario is labeled as a composite or hypothetical. We do not describe real events involving identifiable people, patients, employers or locations.

Limits. Nothing here is legal, financial, medical or flight-training advice.
